Wild Turkeys

There is a rouge band of Wild Turkeys that likes to hang out in my yard every so often.  There are around 20-25 of them and every time I speak of their existence, people accuse me of being on one of my famous Acid Trips. Well you jerks...I finally have some photographic proof taken this morning.

By doing a google search I learned that Wild Turkeys are allover Wisconsin after being re-introduced here in 1976. The WI DNR made a trade with the state of Missouri...their fantabulously amazing Turkeys for our ruffled grousse. And alas, THAT is the reason Elana now has Turkey poo allover her driveway.

I stopped by my neighbor's house today and took some pictures of his herd of cattle.  He has 12-14 calves, as little as 2 days old. These are primarily Holstein cows.

My brother loves Fire Engines. He has a fuzzy fireman blanket and collects cute little matchbox fire engines. Sadly, my brother is 32. (top pic: Dave)

Wishes

My daughter calls these "wishes" and that always makes me smile.  It is lovely to witness the age when dandelions are potential dreams rather than annoying weeds overtaking the yard.

I pulled over and took some pictures of these gals on the way home today.  They walked right up to pose.  I however, made the mistake of saying "Mooooooo" and pissed one of them off.  Apparently, cows feel that gets rather old.

I love the reflections on the water here.  It looks like a child drew squiggles on top of the water in crayon.

of architectual interest...

This is a house near me that is owned by an architect.  The very bottom stone part is from the original barn that had burned down or was somehow destroyed years before during the previous ownership.  I was skeptical at first, but the house turned out nicely and it sure is HUGE.

Swamped

I took this picture in my backyard. The trees are so beautiful and tall and always seem to be looking 'wisely' at the swamp. There is a group of deer that likes to prance in the center of that swamp every day around dinner time.

The Farmer in the Dell

I sometimes crack jokes about how "cheesy" it is to live in the middle o' nowhere Wisconsin, yet the scenery in all seasons is unbelievably charming. Just a few miles away, I captured this rolling field of corn.

I was so enraptured with the color of these roses, I had to take a quick picture. These are my absolute favorite color of roses.

I went out for dinner for my 27th birthday at this lovely Bistro type restaurant and was rather transfixed on the enigimatic, dancing flame of this candle. So simple, yet so warm and lovely.
