It's warming up in Wisconsin!

The weather has been warming up and the chickens have been enjoying life in the shade a lot lately.

I haven't posted any of my photography lately so I thought I would post some pics I have taken recently.

The Chicken House

Here is our Chicken Coop. I designed it myself and built it with my brother and his friends. I've been really trying to learn how to do more woodworking so it was important to me to learn how to do it myself. We used some recycled pieces to keep cost down- boards found in the garage and on Craigslist, latches recycled from an old fence.

Meet Elana's Quails

I thought I'd introduce you to some of my fine feathered "flockers."  I have two females and two males. The handsome boy I'm holding is "Dan."

Tahitian Multi Color Strands

We've had some gorgeous Tahitian cultured pearl multi-color strands lately.  I drilled and put together all of these myself, which was very fun to do! I described one as the love child of Richard's Simmon's Sweatin to the Oldies wardrobe and a box of 68 count crayons.

I thought I would post some pictures as they are a great example of the array of colors that come out of p. Margaritifera oysters.
